Get in Touch →Follow ancient acequia irrigation paths to the charming Alpujarran village of Bayacas. Pass lush fruit and nut groves, cross the Río Chico, and soak in panoramic views of the valley.
To begin the tour, we'll meet at the tourist office. Upon arrival your host will greet you and provide an introduction.
Leave town and walk along the Moorish acequia waterway system to the Río Chico.
We will cross the river and take a walking path towards the village of Bayacas.
As we get closer to Bayacas we will pass directly beside avocado, olive, fig, citrus and almond groves.
Take a short rest while enjoying the quaint feel of the rural Spanish village of Bayacas.
Ascend the ridge overlooking Bayacas and the Chico River valley — amazing 360° views!
Relax and take in the stunning views of the town of Órgiva, Sierra de Lújar, the white villages and the Mediterranean Sea.
Begin the descent to Órgiva, pass by the cemetery, and enjoy beautiful views as we hike back down to town.
The tour ends where we started, at the Plaza de la Alpujarra. There's a café with cold drinks for those who'd like one.
Our team includes native Spanish, English, Swedish and Italian speakers — and years of experience living and walking in this area.
Book on Airbnb →A relaxed walk timed to the best light of the day — to the viewpoints that make the Alpujarras worth photographing. No experience needed, and no heavy gear required. Whether you're shooting on a phone or a full camera setup, you'll leave with photos that actually look like the place you remember.
We time the walk to start an hour or so before sunset (or at sunrise, if you'd rather), when the light over the valley is at its best.
No serious hiking — just a gentle walk to a handful of spots with the best light and the best views over Órgiva and the Sierra Nevada.
Wherever you are with a camera, we'll help — composition, framing, where to stand, how to use the light. Useful whether you're on a phone or a full setup.
As a bonus, we fly the drone over the valley while you're there, and send you a short edited clip afterwards — a different way to remember the visit.
We stay until the light is gone — the best photos are often the ones taken in the last ten minutes.
Led by Tony, a photographer and drone pilot who's spent years learning where the light and the views in this valley are at their best.

Tony is a photographer, certified health coach and outdoor enthusiast originally from Sweden. He moved to the Alpujarras in search of a simpler life, drawn by the mountains, the climate and the strong sense of community. He spends much of his time outdoors. Curious by nature, he enjoys exploring new places, connecting with people, and learning from the local culture, history and landscapes around him. His goal is simple: to share the Alpujarras he fell in love with, and help others discover one of Spain's most remarkable regions.
David loves being outdoors and spending time with his family. He holds a master's degree in outdoor and environmental education and has spent much of his working life on trails and in forests. He has worked for the US National Forest Service, done trail and conservation work with AmeriCorps, and led physical training as a wildland firefighter. He is an Eagle Scout and a certified permaculture designer. In the Alpujarras he has hiked and biked much of the region, studied its plant life, and walked the Camino de Santiago. He has also been an Airbnb Superhost for eight years, so he knows how to make guests feel at home.
Patrik is a doctor with a lifelong passion for sport, movement and the outdoors. A good day for him usually means time in nature, on a mountain trail, a bike or a long walk through the terraces around Órgiva. He is a family man who values the simple things: time outside, good food and unhurried conversation. His medical background gives him a calm, practical eye on the trail, and he enjoys helping guests find a pace that suits them. He sees time in nature as one of the best things you can do for both body and mind.
